A detailed list of the top 5 network adapters for wifi hacking with kali linux.
Top 5 Network Adapters for Wifi Hacking
1. Hak5’s Wifi pineapple
Is one of the best network adapters for hacking IMO you can purchase as it has automated reporting tools. This is definitely valuable if you are a system admin/penetration tester and need to include a report on the fly. In addition, you can also combine the wifi pineapple with your phone using the built-in web application for the wifi pineapple. There are many more features with this card than any other on the market. Lastly, I’d also recommend some additional antennas with the Pineapple AP here.
2. Alfa AWUS036NHA Wireless B/G/N USB Adaptor
Is the next best less expensive option. Alfa cards tend to be the tried and true network adapters; they always seem to work. Also, alfa network adapters are plug and play; I have tested this card so I definitely know it works! This network adapter has a great range, usually a couple of blocks. Comparatively, most alpha cards only work in the 2.4ghz range.
3. ALFA AWUS036NEH Long Range WIRELESS 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi USB Adapter
If you’re wanting to be a little more incognito this network adapter plugs directly into your computer. This is one of the things that I like about this card is that there are no wires; however, it is still a little larger than I expected when opening it out of the box. In addition, the range is great but from my experience, it doesn’t go as far as the network adapter above.
4. Panda Wireless PAU09 N600 Dual Band.
This network adapter supports both (2.4GHz and 5GHz) with a 5dBi antenna. It plugs and plays on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10, Mint, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Fedora, CentOS, Kali Linux and Raspbian.
